Don’t look back in anger
This is a creative writing assignment from Dawn.
I never wanted it to end like this. It’s cold outside as I put on my coat and walk away from us, from you, from the place I never wanted to leave. My chin is up though, because I know the revolutions we talked about in your bed were never going to march on the streets. They’ll stay there, neatly wrapped and placed on the shelf next to your incense and books you never have time to read. Maybe it’s my fault for falling for your mind and your passion, but I’d like to blame you for not being smart enough to realize the potential you possess. The thoughtful riot i saw in you, through the eye of my mind, was just a better place to play than the reality of our separate lives. I loved you, and all I hold dear, I learned from you. Though I can’t promise I’ll never look back, I can promise you it will never be in anger.2,078 views
