Mind your own business don’t worry about celebs dating lives or the big movies they’re in. We’re supposed to get excited about Emmy awards? Aren’t their salaries enough of an award? Aren’t the endorsement deals, the free meals, or the fame enough for them? It just feels like people all too willingly shove the straws in their own brains for other people to suck the life out of them.

I hate dress socks. Why do I have to wear them?

Because that’s what society says is normal and acceptable to be considered “dressed up”? Not good enough.

Because they’re dark? How about I got a pair of WHITE dress socks in a variety pack. WTF??? When would I EVER want to wear white dress socks???

With shoes and pants that fit right, there’s like a 0.01% chance that anyone will even ever see your socks. Why are they so important? Some people treat their socks with as much attention as they do their ties. Who cares?

Dress socks are so thin and they provide no cushioning, especially when you’re wearing uncomfortable dress shoes.

One of the biggest problems I have with dress socks is that they are so tight and, when worn correctly, they stretch up on your shin, restricting circulation and airflow so my feet get super sweaty and anxious for freedom.

I walk about 1.2 miles to work and then a big hill back home in the afternoon. That blows. When I step in the door, one of the first things I do is rip that crap off my feet.

White, cotton, ankle socks is where the love is. comfort, air, easy to put on and take off, easy to bleach and keep brilliant white and they last a long time. Dress socks get worn out in the heels or toes so quickly.

In high school, I had a friend who loved to wear dress socks. Even played soccer in them. Chris Tchinsky. Maybe I need to ask him what the appeal was…

This is another one of those ideas that came to me in a dream. There was a popular guy that ran this coffee shop hang out place, and I went to him all excited about an idea to help his business. He had all this wall space that he liked to hang paintings and photos from local artists. My idea to him was to have people be able to take digital pictures they’ve taken of the city, and print them out in his place. The idea would be, if the photo was really good, he would offer them the opportunity to have their photo featured on a postcard and sold in the store. So you’d have these racks on postcards all from local people basically on consignment. It’d be a great starting place for art school students or even indie photographers to get started and make a few bucks. It wouldn’t have to be limited to postcards, but I would think it would be the most marketable item (and the store was downtown by point state park).

Sitting around a friend’s house Saturday, Nick, Andy, and I had a fleeting idea for a new business. We’ll call it Retro’s. It’s a store where they have every video game console available for you to play. You’d have to have the systems behind a case, and only employees are allowed to handle them. Patrons can come in, pay a membership fee or some equivalent to play any game from the library of video games you have in stock. Now, the cool part is, as you’re starting out, you, of course, want to build an inventory. So, you barter membership time for game titles or systems that you do not currently have in stock. Eventually, you’d have a pretty awesome collection of all kinds of games and systems, and you didn’t really have to do work for it at all.
