Have you heard about the Bloom Box yet?  Probably not.  It’s been featured on 60 minutes earlier this year, but still is a pretty quiet technology.  It’s a clean energy source that can power the average american home in the size of a gallon of milk.

First off, this thing is legit.  This isn’t just some guy doing crazy things that work on paper or theory in his garage, but aren’t financially feasible.  This is NASA technology.  Or, at least, it was, until K.R. Sridhar spun off from his research there to pursue this.  This isn’t just some new start up firm looking for funding to complete it’s work.  Google, eBay, and WalMart are all using their fuel cells.  This just got real.

This is the future of energy.  Small, cheap, clean, and reliable.  Did I mention it runs on oxygen?

Does the amount of food in your refrigerator matter in how much it runs?  Does an empty fridge use less energy because there’s nothing in it to cool?  I guess you can take that further and say does the contents of the fridge make a difference.  Does a fridge full of liquids require more energy than a fridge full of fruit?  I guess it all comes down to how much energy does it take to cool air…If I were to make a prediction, i would say a vacuous space would take more energy because a solid or liquid would act as an insulator…I googled, but couldn’t find anything…

heh, so I have been wanting to try some vitamin supplements for a while now, just to see if they help with energy/metabolism.  Get some vitamin b12 in me and see what happens, ya know?  So i go to my local wally world and start looking around at the bottles, and I find the one-a-day bottles, pretty well known brand name, right?  they say they help with energy and stuff, so i get them.  I took them for the past week…not really feeling any different at all…then I noticed today…"For age 50+" written on the bottle.  DOH  No wonder I’ve been a grumpy old bast….person, i’m taking the pills of one!  Placebo affect or not, that’s what I’m blaming it on.  So, anyone know any 50+ year olds that want some pills?  …some more pills?

Through my childhood, throw my teenage years, through my adulthood, and hopefully continuing through my life, I’ve had the privilege of having some amazing women play a part in my life.  I won’t rank them, because they all are very important to me, each for their own reason.

• Mrs. Sofran – My kindergarten teacher.  She knew me so well and she was so kind.  I was so fond of her, and I still remember her unique nasal voice.
• Mrs. Sepesy – I don’t know her official title, but she was involved with the academic team and "that group" of kids in high school.  She’s probably the most insightful and wise person I’ve ever met.  Truth be told, I asked her if she married me but she said she would never remarry after her husband passed.  She lit up my life every day I got to talk to her with her personality, sarcasm, and sense of humor.  She really cared about us.
• Grandma Hall – I’ve told her before, I wish I have half of her strength and energy when I’m half her age.  She’s over 80, has had a heart attack and stroke, has had so much tragedy in her life, but she still lives alone and can take care of herself pretty well.  My Grandma is awesome.
• My mom – Of course.  How she raised so many kids is beyond me.  So much has gone on in her life, and she is so selfless.  That’s probably her best quality, besides being my mom.
• Harriet – My post office lady.  I miss her.  She retired last July.  Sometimes, I’d make an excuse just to go in and see her.  I’d send her my heart priority mail if she asked for it.  She was so genuine and sincere, and I felt connected over the 5 years or so of me going to see her.  When I went to Italy, I mailed her a post card from the Vatican.  When she retired, she gave me big envelopes to send books in because I’d always buy them from her.  She kept saying that it’d be so much cheaper just to buy a bunch at walmart and pack the books at home, but I always liked coming in with a book and she’d grab me an envelope without me having to ask.
• Cindy - My first psychiatrist/counselor.  I talked about her in a previous post, but she definitely played a part in my life and forming my mind to make decisions.
• All 4 of my sisters – J’aime, Serah, Keren, and Deirdre.  I try to play roles in their lives too, but I wonder if they know how big a part of my life they are.  They’re all so different, but we all are so close.  I recently heard that we’re an intimidating force when we’re together because we seek each other out and need to be together.  That’s all we’ve ever known and relied on in our lives.

on review of the list…3/10 were my teachers in one realm or another…you’d think I would have learned how to form a better sentence than the title of this post…

When i was a kid, we used to have this awesome conversion van with nice plush seats and what felt like velvet walls and all that.  It was classy.  Being kids, we slowly broke window screens, spilt juice in the cup holders, and just really abused the heck out of it.  We were 6 kids though, with lots of friends and energy.  Anyway, one day, i decided that i wanted to write my name on the wall of the van near the back seat.  I loved writing my name of stuff.  Only, I was smart enough to know that i’d be in big trouble.  So, I wrote Deirdre’s name.  She’s ~6 years younger than me, which probably made her about 6 at the time, so i knew i couldn’t just spell her name correctly.  I actually crafted some wobbly letters and a backwards ‘e’ and such.  I remember J’aime saw it first.  The fraud was genuine enough to fool her.

I got inspired to write the past few days, and have a few ideas for novels.  I am going to work on them.  I know i have said that before, but i am going to have some spare time, and it is something i want to do. 

I also started working on my material for stand up   I am going to get a good set going and then go down to open mic night at the funny bone.  just because i want to do it.

haven’t really had a taste to do much of anything this week.  rooms a wreck, need to go grocery shopping, apartment needs cleaned, all the usual crap.  Hopefully i will get some energy this week.

Looks like Adam will be going to Cal in the fall :-  and Emily might room with me, she has another place that is cheaper, but if that doesnt work out, or it is too bad to bare, she said she will.  still got to find another person though.  Any takers?

so much to say, and not a single word i can utter.  So much on my mind and not a single sound on my tongue.

people drive me crazy.  why do i have to be a bad guy for being a nice guy????

went to cornerstone.  totally wasnt feeling up to it.  Jordon otto asked me to go to the soulpatch show afterward.  so i did.  got back at 1 am.  i had a good time, even though i didnt really talk to anyone, or do anything.  it was good to get out. 

watching soulpatch play made me really want to just get my music together.  just record it and finalize it.  I want to do that.

i feel like crap.  forcing myself to eat.  sleeping tons.  no drive.  no motivation.  no energy.  just crap.  one thing that brought a smile to my face this week though, was nintendo nostalgia.
