Check out this installation art that looks like a giant spider web but it’s made out of packing tape.  You can actually crawl inside it.  We need to get this to the Mattress Factory!!!

Hall’s Rules of Social Order #31

Bathroom time is sacred and private.  If anyone else is with 5 feet of you while you are in the bathroom, this is unacceptable, especially in the case of hardware floors where sound travels far.  If it is unavoidable, I learned a trick from a teacher back at Heritage Hills.  Turn the faucet on full blast to drown out any other sounds.

House Ideas

Gotta gotta get up to get down

10 June, 2010 (12:00) | House Ideas

Without going into the dream that inspired it, I want to have a basement or at least a low level room/area that is only accessible by a staircase that is on a third or second story.  The ides is to have a normal stairwell where staircases are stacked on top of each other, but it skips a floor, and then the stairs go the opposite direction on that lower level.  I’ll probably need to mock up a 3D model or something if you can’t understand that.  That area would come in handy if you were being invaded by robbers, they’d expect the basement to only be accessible by the 1st floor, or by going down, but you have to go up to go down…

Pittsburgh

She’s so high

Check out this great Gigapan of Pittsburgh taken recently from the top of the USS Steel building  (the tallest building in the city).  It has some awesome views from it, as well as confirming that if I had a way onto my roof, like a roof deck, (or tore down the houses behind me), I could see the USS Steel building.
