Personal Update

all work and no play makes Josh a dull boy

21 September, 2004 (06:45) | Personal Update

been a while since i posted a personal update.  jobs still going.  some days are easy, some days its rough getting out of bed at 3 am.  If i can’t get used to getting up in the middle of night, perhaps i can get used to having some good days and some bad days.

hmm, since last i posted, i went to cleveland, had a sweet time.  rock and roll hall of fame, hard rock, great hotel, nice city, crappy crappy zoo.  the metro parks zoo is so terribly laid out.  and there are like 2 animals there.  and there is a bridge that is losing concrete and you can see the steel reebar.  it’s ghetto.

still no guitar.  leaning towards not getting that HPL (cheap-nonwood) guitar.  I do want to get a martin though.  so either i have to comprimise what i want out of a guitar, the brand name, or my wallet.  all three are very unlikely to bend easily.

going down to DC this weekend for Brady’s wedding.  should be an interesting time.  I’ll be sure to get release forms from everyone so that i can post pictures online. 🙂  it’s either live forever through photographs, or get made into a gem when ever you die.

Ramblings

sure signs you’re having a day like Josh Hall

9 September, 2004 (02:53) | Ramblings

1.  a gay midget carrying a Chihuahua yells at you for jay walking.

2.  you pull up to the parking lot gate around 11pm, and right before you insert your card for the arm to lift, the power goes out…and doesn’t come back on before you have to go to work at 4 am.

3.  Your step dad tries to be a nice guy and take care of getting your car repaired, even lets you borrow his for a week, and when he brings your car back to your apartment, your dead asleep and don’t hear him knocking.  man i feel like an arse.

4.  you’re life is so busy, you have to schedule things that overlap, and end up sleeping through both of them anyway.

5.  you’re room is a wreck, but you’re barely home/awake to notice/care/clean.

6.  the one night you have some spare time to work on your hobbies, which involves being online and a computer, the power is out.

7.  You tell your new roommate/cousin that power should be restored soon, since you live blocks from downtown, you’re in a high priority area to be restored.  When you get into work, you find out that duquense light routed all your power to downtown.

and this one just in…when you look at the statistics on your site, you see that people are being directed to your site when they search google for “innie nipples”   yeah, that does wonders for your self-esteem.

Thoughts & Ideas

the zoo maps of tomorrow

6 September, 2004 (07:59) | Thoughts & Ideas

just got back from the metro parks cleveland zoo this weekend and thought about a new way to do the maps.  they should give you a durable plastic one with a gps tracker in it.  Then you can have a dynamic “you are here” light.  for large groups or families that split up, you could add their tracker to your screen, so that you know where they are all the time.  that would help coordinate meeting times, meals, and just supervision.

I was just thinking a static layout of the map painted on the screen, but maybe it could be more like a tablet pc, and the park can update if the animals are outside that day, if a new exhibit is open, the times of shows, etc.  Certainly wouldn’t be cost effective to replace maps, but maybe for $20 extra a group could use these, then i bet they would catch on.

Personal Update

who needs sand paper when you have days like mine. (rough. get it?)

1 September, 2004 (05:49) | Personal Update

feeling the effects of all the crap i do this week.  touchtown calls, crazy hours at mellon, cornerstone, dragon game, car crap, family crap, miscellaneous crap, personal crap, apartment crap, social crap.  and it’s only wednesday.  Something is going to give very soon.  It just might be my sanity.

went down to pittsburgh guitars to pick up a pick up (how many times do you get to say that in a life time?) for my acoustic, and i checked out a martin guitar i was interested in.  there were 2 martins that i liked, the second one being a little more expensive than the one i just looked at.  I’d like to see that one before i make the purchase, but i plan on buying a martin in the near future.  martin is going to have to custom make one for me in a left handed version.  it is going to take atleast 3 months i am told.  its worth it for the bragging rights of having a custom made guitar though 🙂

i am going to cleveland this weekend.  gunna check out the rock and roll hall of fame, maybe the zoo, whatever the heck i want to do.  i didnt go anywhere this summer, and i friggin need a break.  since europe doesnt celebrate labor day, i have to work monday.  no big deal though.

alright, i am off like a light switch.  wish i had something cool to post.  i guess a link to the new imac will have to do.  the imac g5 is still my mistress.  and a fowl temptress she is indeed.
