hotmail substitute and Globe*trotter

24 February, 2004 (23:27) | Site Update

check this out. hate hotmail’s ads and lay out? me too. and when i am not at my computer, that is the easiest way to check my hotmail account…until now. There is now a hotmail module to the right that you can use to log into hotmail. So simple it almost hurts.

I also added a new feature called Globe*trotter. It is a graphical guestbook of sorts, and i have been watching the development of it for a few weeks now, and i have the priviledge of porting it to phpnuke! check it out.

jokes

23 February, 2004 (23:48) | Site Update

I put up a jokes section, feel free to add all the jokes you can think of. I would love to have a huge database of jokes!

Don’t mind the quantum star link for those who aren’t playing. it just saves the people who are playing some time and hassle from logging in just to check the status of the game.

I updated phpnuke to 7.0 and the gallery to 1.2.2b, let me know if you have any problems with the new upgrades.

Kathy got me all exited about waking life again. So will share with you a few things from the official site. There is a dream oracle (quiz) you can take there to analyze your dreams. Here, you can learn on how to be awake in your dreams. Personally, i found out how to do this on my own a few years back, but i can guarantee its effects if you try it. And if you don’t love every sleeping moment of it (get it? sleeping? not waking? nevermind.) then you get your money back. Check out Alex Jones site, infowars.com and read about how the World Trade Towers were intentionally “pulled.” Waking life is by far the best movie i have ever seen, and probably ever will see, and that is because it isnt just a movie, it is information, it is thoughts and ideas, it is reflection, and it is everything you haven’t seen before.

As for me, I went home friday to watch dante while Chris and my mom went down to DC with Tirza. Apparently, tirza has been staying over the house a lot, and basically has become part ofthe family. Very interesting. Chris calls it “How mommy got her groove back” πŸ˜€

so 40 days of purpose starts today, i’ll keep you updated on how that goes. J’aime did it in the fall, and she enjoyed it. I am going to be interacting with a group of guys every tuesday night about it too. So this semester has brought monday jam nights, tuesday group meetings, wednesday cornerstone, and saturday basketball. and there are many other opportunities that go on that i can’t take advantage of.

other than that, just trying to keep both feet on the ground in this upside down world i live in.

What sirens?

[ugh] I got pulled over for speeding today on 51. I don’t know how fast I was going, and neither does the cop. What I do know though, was I was not alone, i was in traffic, i was just keeping pace with the truck infront of me, i was in the left lane. When he made his way behind me, i had a hard time getting into the right lane, i had been in the left lane the whole time, and never passed anyone, so i guess it was just my luck. I did get off with a warning though. Chris’ insurance card was expired too. And when he asked me why i was in such a hurry, i told him i was going to be late for work, which i was 15 minutes late. And that was because Chris needed to be picked up and dropped off at the dealership for the van. Guess i should have not been such a nice guy and let him walk down to the dealership :-

I got Peter, who works on the cornerstone site with me, a job at Touchtown. Marc is leaving, and so i told Peter to send in his resume. So hopefully he will not make a liar out of me πŸ™‚

went to the international car show last night with becky. took some pictures and put them in the gallery.

so this weekend i am watching dante while my mom and chris go down to DC and hang out there. Fun fun.

Personal Update

so much to do!

haven’t updated in a while. so here goes. Cornerstone is going great. we are doing this 40 days of purpose thing. we read a book for 40 days and meet in small groups about it. looks like it should be very rewarding. next wednesday we are going to see The Passion, i guess we rented out a whole theatre. I am looking forward to it.

i am helping out on a webpage for a local band, Soulpatch. They all go to Cornerstone, and have been together for over a year playing around all over locally.

getting lots of action in green dragon and quantum star. fun fun!

serah called me today. she left me a message on the apartment answering machine, “just calling to talk…and…I am having computer problems” I didn’t even recognize her voice. I tried calling her back, but no answer. :- I have been leaving her AIM messages, and she never returns them. I guess she is just a busy girl, or just really doesn’t care for me. :-

hmmm, what else…Kathy and I are on good terms now. I had told her i hated her, and she flipped out, who’da thunk? So i am glad to be talking to her again, even though…i don’t ever really talk to her. But it is nice to know i can. πŸ™‚

jubillee is coming up. that should be interesting. I also am planning to go to creation this summer with my sisters. hopefully we can all work that out. let me know if you want to go! we get discounts for more people. hmmm, not really too much else. I am eating fine, put my tuition on my mom’s credit card since i could pay it all upfront. she gets like $18 cash back on it too:-D. it’s 3 am, i have class at 9. i gotta get to bed. [crash]

Friday the 13th…DUN DUN DUN!!!!

13 February, 2004 (22:18) | Personal Update

pfff. friday the 13th. Sometimes i just wonder why people are the way they are. so it is friday the 13th, and because there was a movie about that date i am supposed to go around reminding people what today’s date is??? I just don’t get it. but i never really got why 2-liter pop bottles are shaped that way either. [shrug]

so i just got back from the poetry reading. I made a shameless plug (i am the king of shameless plugs) for my site πŸ™‚ I read “A Will”, “Return”, “Tears of Heaven”, and “A Son’s Shadow of a Father”. For that one, I had a friend come up and read through the red lettering, as i also read through the black lettering. Totally created the effect I was looking to achieve. I saw some people jerk their heads back and open their eyes wider when we both started reading the 2nd stanza together. Good times, good times. i was so pumped to do the readings tonight, that i wrote 2 new poems, “Silly Me” and “Thanks”. I also thought about puting up some of the others i have written in the past, but i read through them again, and there is no way i can put those up:) I also noticed that a lot of the poems i have up have gramatical errors, how embarrassing. I need to fix that, and maybe even add a little copyright on the bottom of each one. eh, i don’t feel like it πŸ™‚ While i am talking about writing though, my russian fairy tales class has an extra credit assignment to write a tale in russian fairy tale style. I am all about that. I want to get more of a grip of the style though, because i realize that is what they are going to be looking for.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s day. [cringe] I hate commercial holidays. I hate being expected to be romantic. I think 99.9% of being romantic is being sporatic and surprising. Valentines completely ruins that. But i am going to go play basketball with some of the guys from cornerstone, and hopefully that will turn into a weekly adventure/opportunity for physical activity. Then working on the cornerstone database. We’ll see what the rest of the night has to offer.
