well, in an unexpected and rather quick and easy process, I have been offered a promotion at work. I’ll be moving off my european hours of 4am to noon, to twilight hours of 4pm to midnight, monday through friday. I’ll be the level 2 for the group, which means I’ll be on the phone less, but doing a lot more work with reporting, escallations, processing, documentation, etc. Should prove to be a challenging position and I’m looking forward to it. I really am going to miss the guys I work with now though, and certainly my UK colleagues. I actually plan to VPN in the mornings from home every once in a while just to chat it up.
Car show tonight, maybe go car shopping in the morning too. Just got my tuition reimbursement check, so i have some money for a downpayment on whatever i decide to do. and actually, with the shift move, i’ll be able to take the bus from my door to work’s door, so i’ll be needing a car even less. I might put off the car decision until I know what’s going on with my job moving to the new building 20 minutes north.
